Thomas and James of the Throttle House YouTube channel recently put three of the most popular cars on the market—the 2020 C8 Corvette, the Nissan GT-R, and the AMG GT63 S—up against each other in an exciting head-to-head race. With such a varied selection of cars, no one was sure which vehicle would come out on top. Who emerged victorious? Let’s take a look at what happened.
2020 C8 Corvette vs. Nissan GT-R
The first matchup pitted the 2020 C8 Corvette against the Nissan GT-R. Both vehicles boast impressive specs, with the C8 boasting 495 horsepower and 470 lb.-ft of torque under its hood, while the Nismo version of the GT-R has 600 horsepower and 480 lb.-ft of torque. It was a close race; however, in the end, it was the 2020 C8 Corvette that crossed the finish line first by just over a second ahead of its competitor.
2020 C8 Corvette vs. AMG GT63 S
Next up was an even more intense matchup between two heavy hitters: The 2020 C8 Corvette and Mercedes' super sedan, the AMG GT63 S. This time around, it wasn't as close as their previous race; after all, with 630 horsepower and 664 lb.-ft of torque under its hood, it's no surprise that this beast from Mercedes took home first place with ease—nearly four seconds ahead of its competitor! However, despite taking second place in this race, it's worth noting that for being such a light car compared to its competition (at only 3200 pounds), it still held its own against an absolute powerhouse like the AMG!
The ultimate showdown between these three cars was intense! Even though Thomas and James already had some experience racing Corvettes on their track before this test run began, they were still surprised by how well it performed against two established powerhouses like Nissan's GT-R and Mercedes' AMG GT63 S! It goes to show that sometimes surprises can occur when you least expect them—and we definitely got one here! All in all a great race between three amazing vehicles! If you're looking for a car that can hold its own against fast competitors then make sure to check out Chevrolet's new 2020 C8 Corvette for yourself—it might surprise you too!
